Atlanta's Greatest place to take your kid, or visitors!

Yellow River Game Ranch is a fantastic experience with your kids, or friends. We have been there several times, and go back as much as we can.

This is your chance to pet deer, sheep, bunny rabbits, all kinds of farm animals, etc. The animals come right up to you, they are used to being fed by visitors to the park. My kids, and I, get a huge kick out of feeding all the animals. Even the squirrels, and chipmunks eat out of your hands!!

It's so cheap, and gives you not only a great, fun time with your kids, but, it's really the greatest place for children and adults alike to "get to know" animals up close. Make sure to bring your own fruits and vegetables (healthy stuff) for the animals - I'd recommended raw peanuts, corn, carrots, and lettuce. The squirrels love to eat the peanuts - when they come up to you and eat out of your hands, it is so cool!

If you haven't been there, you've missed Atlanta's best kept secret for family entertainment! Go now, and go often - you will thank me!

Don't support animal torture, this place should be shut down.

This place should be shut down for animal cruelty. Don't close your eyes to the abuse because you think your child is enjoying feeding a sick and maltreated animal.



We were so excited to take my 4 year old here hoping that she could enjoy petting some happy well cared for animals. Instead we witnessed some beautiful animals being subjected to daily torture something which I was horrified to see is still happening in today's day and age. I was so sad that people (including us on that day) were supporting a place like that by going there. It stank as the cages were dirty. People were throwing in inappropriate food which was lying untouched in a heap with flies on it. Noctural animals were being forced to stay awake in the day with no shelter from noise, sun or onlookers. The lion was in a tiny cage with no place to adequately exercise or hide. There were far too many bears in a cramped space that looked ill, maltreated and unhappy in a round concrete cage. There were generally far too many animals in every space that looked ill, unhappy and in dirty conditions. I felt very emotional and sad and couldn't wait to leave. Other people we bumped into felt the same. I hope that by posting this people may think twice about going so that it can be shut down and the animals rescued or the owners be forced to rehouse and educate themselves on how to engage in an acceptable level of husbandary.



My heart goes out to the mal treated animals. No fellow living creature deserves to be treated like that. My advice; visit the Atlanta zoo, it may be a different and more expensive experience but at least you know you are looking at well cared for animals kept by a responsible organisation.

DON'T GO HERE!!

This place is something that is a good idea, but the execution is all wrong. First of all, it's supposed to be a refuge for animals. Oh! The poor animals. They are not being properly cared for AT ALL! It's disgusting and despicable the conditions these poor animals have to tolerate. It's easy to get short-sighted when you have the thrill of hand-feeding a deer. But if you look closer, you'll see that the animals are not getting enough access to clean water, proper housing, or medical care. It's awful. I understand the place has been in business for a long time. Maybe the people who run it just don't have the energy to do the right thing for the animals anymore. As for friendliness of staff, forget it. That doesn't matter as much to me because I came to see the animals. But so you know, it's a comprehensively miserable experience.

Plan your visit before a 45 minute drive!

This place is way too big to see in only an hour. Especially if you have a two year old and are driving 45 minutes. Don't wait til the last minute - you'll only frustrate yourself. Even if they had let you in at 5, you wouldn't have been able to walk the entire trail in an hour, and them they would have had to chase you out and you would have been mad at that!



I went with 2 toddlers and my cousin and we spent a couple hours feeding the deer, squirrels, farm animals and tons of bunnies. We took in carrots and crackers from the store to save some money, and bought some feed along the trail. It's an awsome experience to watch the deer eat out of your child's hand, not one you are soon to forget!

Not a family place

I'd like to recommend this place, and if I had had the opportunity to make it into it, I would. However, they stop stop taking tickets at 5:00. On the dot, by their clock. If you get there at 5, they are closed, and no amount of pleading will get you in. Once they have closed the till (and they close the till early so they can shut the door by five) will get you anywhere. They are tired and ready to go. No matter that they are still open for another hour. A couple more minutes makes no difference. We rode 45 minutes to take a two year old, but we ran into a couple who had ridden three hours. No matter. Once the till is closed, it's closed.



Family place? Not a chance.
