UnWellstar, NOT a family first facility
Cobb Wellstar is a pathetic corporate run facility that cares not a bit for their staff, much less their patients. My good friend is a RN there and the administrative policy is abyssmal. They treat their staff like serfs. Longtime LPN's...

EMERGENCY ROOM - PATHETIC
ABSOLUTELY the worse ER service I have ever experienced. Arrived at the ER with my sister who could not even hold her head up due to severe dehydration, high fever, etc.. Took 45 minutes for her to get checked by the nurse for symptoms...

WELLSTAR COBB STAFF ARE ALL STARS
On October 8, I arrived at the ER at 6AM in extreme pain. I didn't even have to wait in this area and was immediately seen by a trauma specialist. Within the hour I was in a hospital bed and scheduled for emergency surgery.
The staff and nurses of 4W could not have been more caring and sensitive to me and my family. I was scared and apprehensive - they were self assured and understanding. Dr Wyatt was brought in as was the kidney specialist. Every effort was made to make me feel comfortable and aleviate my pain.
AND, NO, I do not have insurance - no one pressured me about monies and I did receive a written referral to a county assistance program.

parking fees
Yes, it was a shame when Cobb started charging for parking. I was so Proud of Cobb being from the Mableton/Austell area all my life (I'm 56). Because it was the only hos. with free parking in the vicinity. I would bragg to all! However, I had a friend that knew the owner of the land the hos. is buldt on, and he said that there would never be parking fees at the hos. That may be why for a # of years Quite a few may I say, NO FEES. I had my first 2 babies there 79 and 81. My mom and bro were patients there right after it opened around '68. Now they R like EVERYBODY else.

Great Nurses, but not a Comfortable Labor & Delivery Setup
My wife delivered our second child at this hospital and since our first child was delivered at Piedmont this hospital was just ok. #1 They do not have a nursery and my wife's 2nd night in the hospital the baby would not go to sleep and I was not there because I had to keep our 2 year old. After not getting any sleep the night before because she was delivering and the night before that she had contractions every 10-15 minutes so she didn't get much sleep for 2 nights. Then to deliver & not get any sleep the following night is a stressful experience. #2 The food delivery stops early in the evening so I had to physically go get the food for my wife since she delivered at 11pm and they would not deliver that late. What if a woman has no family? There are many single moms. Not to mention that fathers would like to stay with their wife and new baby, not run errands. #3 They charge for parking. It was not all bad, we had some wonderful nurses who did a great job. However, If we ever

Overpriced for what you get - Unhelpful ER
Don't expect to see a doctor ever, only overworked nurse practitioners. They won't give you any information about available financial help for low-income clients, although they have it available. More than $500 for a 20 min consultation not including staff charges, those come apart. Staff are third party contractors.

Parking Lot Fees
Wellstar Cobb Hospital. This hospital charges for parking, and if you don't have money they treat you horrible. It doesn't matter to them what kind of trama you are going through with your family they still look down there noses at you as if you have just committed a terrible crime.

Parking Lot Nightmare
The hospital staff was great, especially a kind, warm and very friendly nurse in the CCU. Her name was Tamika. I give her high praise. If all nurses were as compassionate and caring, and may I say, Down to earth, you would not see a sad face from patients who are in the unit with non-end -of -life problems and would probably see a very seldom smile from those who are. I had experienced a heart attack on Nov 20,2008 and she made the day for me. She calmed my fears and made me feel I was a special patient, Certainly, I was not but she made me feel that way. I will always remember her sweet little face. May GOD Bless this precious young lady/nurse.There was a downfall though. My children had to pay $5 every time they came and left the hospital parking lot, even for the same day and you had to argue with them to except validation cards from the hospital staff. They stated the hospital staff or any hospital department had any authority with their parking lots to do so,pleeeease, no one in t
