Pet Clips

I took my dog, M, to Pet Clips at 11:00 one day to receive their Clip and Go service (shaving fur and clipping nails). I bathed him about two hours before I took him. By the time I got him to the facility he was still a wee bit damp, and I informed the front desk lady (FDL) of his dampness. She rubbed him and simply commented on the humidity. No mention of him being too damp to clip, just a notice that he would be ready by 12:30. While I was on my way to run an errand in another city, I received a call at 11:15 from FDL. I was informed that M was too damp to be clipped and that I would be charged for a full groom because they needed to dry him. (This is the point when I decided to take M elsewhere for his future grooming needs). I kindly informed FDL that I would rather not pay for a full groom when he wasn't receiving a bath, and I told her to simply clip his nails and I would retrieve M as soon as I could. I explained that I was on my way to another town. She told me that they had already clipped his nails and I needed to come right then because pet owners were not allowed to leave during a nail clipping. I could see that we weren't getting anywhere, so with exasperation I told her that I would be there as soon as I could. I wasn't going to turn around while half way between my destination and Pet Clips to get my dog whom they said would be ready at 12:30, go home, get him settled, then go right back out to run my errand. So I completed the task in progress, and returned to Pet Clips to get M at 12:15, 15 min. before the previously agreed upon pick up time. M was already on his leash and FDL was bringing him out to greet me. She said that there would be no charge for the nail clipping ($7), but the owner had asked that I not bring M back. I didn't make a fuss because I had already decided not to take my boy back there. [Recap] FDL called and blatantly told me they were going to overcharge me. Then, because I didn't want to get overcharged, I was told to pick him up before the agreed upon pick up time though I was almost in another town.
Not only will I not be taking M back, but I will be spreading warning against this awkward establishment. I already was not in love with Pet Clips as no one there seemed to "fuss over" M and very rarely did some one even smile at me. I took him to another groomer in town, and she didn't leave the pits and grooves in his coat that Sherri Burns at Pet Clips always seemed to leave. I just thought the inconsistency in smoothness was normal until I took him somewhere else.
