Great for small animals, do your reseach when it comes to dogs

The owner has been a family friend since I was 2! Now I am 21, so I pretty much grew up at this place... \r

First of all I would like to respond to the certain people who are "anti-breeders", your an idiot!! As a responsible breeder,...

Partners should be ashamed to call themselves a pet store.

I am never one to leave a negative review, but I felt compelled to stand up for what is right. I just recently visited Partners for the first time. I am not a fan of pet stores in the first place. I know that animals should not be exploited and sold in such conditions. I can honestly say that I felt ashamed walking into this store. Five minutes after walking through the front doors was all it took before I was heartbroken and in tears. To begin on a light note: No animals should be living in such conditions. All of the animals were in cages way to small for them or crammed in with 50 roommates with no space to even walk around. All of the cages were filthy. The poor puppies couldn't even stand because their little paws were falling through the bottom of the cage, into their own filth. Some of the puppy cages didn't even have food. I do agree, these pups were way to young to be away from their mothers. They should be with her until the day that they go off to a good home. None of the animals seemed to be getting any kind of human interaction, not even the dogs. The staff felt pretty comfortable sitting around instead of taking care of business like cleaning or feeding the animals. Not to mention what happens when the staff leaves at close. With all of the windows painted black, all of those animals just sit there for hours and hours in pitch black.

This is definitely not a place I would ever recommend to anyone. Which is really sad to say because those animals need to be in a good home. That doesn't change the fact that I will never support Partners as a pet store...

We may claim not to buy from Puppy Mills but we are greedy!!

NO REPUTABLE BREEDER WOULD EVER SELL TO A PET STORE!

Reputable breeders do not want their puppies stuffed into cages and expoited to gain money for any business. A reputable breeder breeds for the dog, not only the money.

A breeder who sells to a pet store has no idea where the puppies or kittens are going to, therefore THAT MAKES THEM IRRESPONSIBLE!

The fact that Partners is selling dogs just shows that they don't care at all about the thousands of dogs that are dying in shelters every year, if they did, they would recommend adoption or house some shelter pups in their facility instead of supporting breeding.

People who buy dogs from breeders or pet shops should think twice before doing so, each purchased pet supports the irresponsibility of these breeders. Adopt a shelter pet instead, many shelter pets are purebred dogs or puppies that were dumped, neglected or abandoned, many by breeders because they are not perfect looking (bad markings) or they are a little too short to show or breed or they got a little too old before they sold them (most breeders don't sell puppies once they hit 6 months.

The puppies at Partners are much too young to be away from their mothers. Puppies should stay with their family as long as possible to learn basic social behavior and benefit from breastfeeding with mom... Obviously Partners does not care about this either... nor does Partners Spay and Neuter the pets before they sell them.

Think about someone other than yourself Partners and stop being so greedy!!!

I've never been one for doing reviews, but after reading a few of them about Partners Pets, I thought I should give my opinion. I've been shopping at Partners for the past 8 years. I bought two puppies, a snake, many fish, and a prarie dog. I absolutely LOVE all my animals that I bought there. My dogs are my children. Their puppies are NOT from puppy mills. I have the papers on both of my dogs, and Ive even called them about questions regarding the background of my dogs. I'm a stickler and both breeders proved that you CAN buy from a pet store without buying puppy mill dogs. Anyone who says Partners has sick animals or dirty cages is WRONG!!!! I've been there numerous times and all the animals are healthy and the cages are clean. It's a shame that people villify a pet store that sells puppies because of stores like Petland. See for yourself. Partners is a pet store that I'm proud to shop in!!!

Partners Pet Ctr is DEPLORABLE

Well said, Patricia C! I think we can see that those other reviews were written back in 2005, before they started selling puppies. Things are totally different now. They have sold out and become Merchants of Greed, perpetuating the Cruelty behind the Cuteness. There are hundreds of fabulous dogs waiting for a home at the Wiliamson County shelter and the city of Georgetown shelter -- please people, give those animals a chance a life !!

WAKE UP PEOPLE

No reputable breeder sells puppies through a pet store. PERIOD. Reputable breeders care where their animals go - they ask lots of questions of potential purchasers, maybe even do a home check, and will take their dogs back if a congenital defect turns up or other problems occur. That ain't what's going on here folks. Marcy D says As far as the Puppy mill thing. I'm sure if that were the case, he would be shut down by now. Really? Have you never heard of Petland, Marcy D - you know, the huge international pet store chain that continues to sell thousands and thousands of puppy mill puppies every year while the puppies' parents live their short painful lives in filth and squalor back at the mills and the puppy broker Hunte Corp. and Petland rake in literally millions of dollars? People - please educate yourselves. Google how to buy a puppy please I beg you. Better yet, go to your local shelter and save a dog from death. Or google [your favorite breed] rescue, Texas if you

Fabulous Pet Store

We got our Cairn Terrier from Partners Pet Shop about 2 months ago...she's the best puppy ever! Adam and his staff were wonderful and answered all our questions thoroughly since she was our first dog. I thought all the animals waiting for a new home looked happy and clean. I highly recommend Partners Pet Shop!

Thumbs up

User Rating: 5 out of 5 stars by Marcy and Katy 04/22/2009 We have done alot of business with Partners thru the years. We have always found what we needed and found it in great shape, including rabbits, fish, hamsters and a chinchilla just recently (4-09). I have a nine year old daughter and she has been going to this store since she was four. The owner and all the workers there have always been very kind to her and myself. Now there have been times they don't want the puppies held if they have been held too much that day or if they know there really is no way the parent is going to buy it. This only makes it harder on the child if the pet store allows children to hold the animals. So I applaud the owner for not letting the animals being held at times as I have had to drag my daughter out of stores crying when she did get to hold things and I wouldn't then buy them. Sometimes it is okay to say no and alot of times it's better for the child.I can also say I have never seen these animals

Best pet store in Austin area

I've been to a lot of pet stores in the Austin area-- some good and some bad. Partners Pet Center is my favorite pet store. They have a huge selection of all kinds of pets. I was impressed by how clean and well taken care of all the pets were. Their fish tanks are always super clean. I bought two puppies, a hedgehog, and a fish tank from them-- and Iove them all. The people that work there are all very friendly and always have been very good to me and my family. I would highly recommend Partners to anyone looking for a pet.
