Used to be a great joint, now turning for the worst.
I used to love visiting Oldfield's. But now that the bar owner, Jim, has resorted to allegedly stealing money to collect insurance money as well as firing bartenders for Lisa, the cheap, trollish tramp (including the much-loved icon "Brose" who has been there for 7 years)..... the place is a sad shadow of what it has been. The only night worth returning for is karaoke night, on Thursdays, when Karaoke Dave turns it into a blast. Beware of the Karaoke monsters, however- there is a large group of rowdy boys in a band who are certain their destiny is fame- their starvation for spotlight has them attempting to disease the singer-list every time the karaoke guy turns his head. They appear at karaoke nights across campus, and whether it's the chubby one with a frog head and monster curls, the coked-out Mick Jagger looking one, the female Jesus, or the tall slab shaped egghead one that goes for the IQ=75 charm/"disarming" smile, they are undeniably annoying to all but their own friends.
P.S. friends of these guys, don't encourage them any longer, please. There's enough horrible college bands out there as it is!
