Good Food
Went on one of our first dates here. Food was Great. Atmosphere was also very good. Cost was a little pricy but we got what we paid for! Deffinately great place for a couples dinner! Very good Food.Couldn't Be Better
Husband, daughter, grandson and myself ate at Nick's. I and my daughter had the chicken marsala--absolutely awesome--fresh mushrooms, rice pilaf. Husband had mess of perch--lightly breaded, full of flavor--with baked potato. Baked potato was very fresh. Grandson had top sirloin--very good. Daughter also had french onion soup which was perfect--not too salty. Salads were good. Service great--fast and friendly. Since this was our first time there, we all pretty much sampled each other's food. We all were in agreement that this was a place to return to. By the way, I am very finicky and critical of my food. I had no complaints. The only con was the staff seemed in a hurry to take dishes away. Next time I will be more assertive if I'm not sure I want the dish taken away.Great steak
Steak was great and full of flavor didn't need any A1 sauce!!!!!,They must marinate the steaks overnight every bite was full of flavor.Portions are too small and prices are too high for what you receive on your plate.Wonderful!
Nick's is our favorite. My husband and two brothers LOVE the prime rib and steaks. I adore their walnut-crusted salmon - fresh and tasty. Nick's portions are generous, with good sides. Fresh broccoli, great potato choices (try the redskins), and the whole grain loaf of bread is to die for, especially with the whpped cherry butter. Prices are fair, and several weeknights Nick's offers all-you-can-eat entrees; Thursday night is prime rib. the guys swear it is the best they've ever eaten, and knowing these men, they've eaten a ton of beef in their lives. The servers are pleasant and attentive. They do a pretty good lake perch, too. Nick himself is usually in the restaurant evenings, and he makes sure everything is to the client's liking. All in all, dining at Nick's is a very pleasurable experience. Oops, I almost forgot about the mushroom wild rice soup - swoon!Eat Like a KING!!!!!!!!! (Or Queen)
WOW I mean WOW!!!! I ate at Nick's for the first time over the weekend, and it was really great. Now I love eating out, and do so two to three times a week, and I go everywhere. Now I went to Nick's with my girlfriend, she has been going there with her family for years and took me there knowing I'm a steak lover.Thank You Bill
I was trying to plan a birthday party for my husband when we came to the Detroit area from Houston. When my other plan fell through I called Nick's. I had a group of 27 people and need a place the next day. Bill was great when I called we set up a special menu and he set aside the back room for my party. Everyone at the restaurant was very helpful and friendly. The food is wonderful.Reminds me of standing in line at the Secretary of State. Can you say "OVERRATED"?
Wait . . . . wait . . . . just wait please . . . that's what you'll be doing at NIck's. And the cocky, unsympathetic manager will console you by telling you that is quite acceptable and normal there. He even gave us a lame excuse, "well, we take longer because you've probably noticed we make everything from scratch", HMMMM, we were waiting for STEAKS and HAMBURGERS, I didn't realize they were made from "SCRATCH", I just usually grill them for 4 mins a side and flip. He tried to make us feel we were unreasonable for expecting better than waiting for an hour for our entree. (They weren't that busy). We'll be back!
This is the first time I've ever written a review for a restaurant but I felt compelled to do so after reading the not so positive review from the last patron. My husband and I went to Nick's for his birthday dinner after hearing from my mother-in-law that it used to be wonderful. Well, it STILL IS!!Bravo, Bravo, Bravo
Thats all I can say Bravo, Bravo, Bravo From the beginning to the end!!!! EXCELLENT!! The wonderful hostess @ the door to the pleasent and on the ball waitress. To the fresh baked bread with the out of this world cherry butter!!! Then to the melt in your mouth steaks cooked a perfect medium. Follwed by the Hunka Hunka chocate cake with some icecream and Sanders Fudge!!! TOO DIE FOR!!!!!Thank You Nick's for keeping this Restaurant my FAVORITE!!!!!!!!!!!!BAD SHRIMP
I received a gift card to Nick's for Christmas 2008. I live in Shelby Twp. Nick's 22nd street is 22 and VanDyke.best filet you will ever have !!!
I go to 22nd street steakhouse at least twice a week, I was turned on to the place by some friends a couple of years ago for a rehersal dinner in there back banquet room. The food was excellent. I had a 9oz filet & you could practically cut it with a fork. They have an incredible wine selection and a really nice variety on there menu from fresh seafood to chicken dishes to awesome porkchops, very thick and moist not dried out like most places I've had them. If your in the mood for a sandwich, you have to try their corn beef, it's awesome. I've seen some reviews saying Nicks is a little overpriced, but I'm not sure what they are comparing it to. If they're comparing it to fastfood or pub food, yes, but for a steakhouse it is comparable to all the chain steakhouses & the quality is much better. They also have a nice 1 man band in the bar area on weekends (not to loud) and very cheap drink specials. Best steakhouse this side of texas !!!You'd think they'd try harder
The server brought a slab of prime rib instead of the ribeye steak I had ordered; no apology. When I stepped away, she informed the party I was with that I had said prime rib, because the size I asked for also was a prime rib size.Worldwide > United States > Utica, MI > Restaurants
