Bad Service, Worse food
After asking the server explicitly if a soup had sour cream or cheese in it and getting is reassurances that it had neither, I ordered the soup. It came with cheese on top. When I asked him if what i saw was infact cheese, he said "No. It's cream cheese." Hmmm...isn't that CHEESE???

Wonderful Food, Wonderful Service
I have ordered from New Prospect many times and it is excellent. The food is wonderful from the catfish to the meatloaf to the little buns they send with your order. They are always polite and helpful and deliver fast. It's a little more expensive than average but well worth it. I've never had an off night when ordering there. I can't recommend the catfish enough!

Terrible Service, Terrible Food, Long Wait, Incompetent Waiter.....
My date and I had to wait fifteen minutes to be seated yet the place was half empty. We waited another fifteen minutes for the waiter to take our order. Right after we ordered an insect ran across the table. It's took forty five minutes for us to recieve our food. We tried to wait it out hoping the food would make up for the terrible service. Boy was we wrong! My date ordered a chicken sandwich and found it dry, tasteless and all around disgusting. I ordered the brook trout meal and could hardly take a second bite. I've had a better experience eating in McDonald's! As expensive as the meals are we were ripped off! I wouldn't even recommend this place to my worse enemy.

Comfort cooking in a neighborhood spot
This is a perfect neighborhood spot with good food and friendly service. It's not a five-star restaurant by any means, but if you're in the mood for good food at a valuable price, and you're in the neighborhood, New Prospect Cafe is a great place to go. We?ve eaten there many times, for brunch and dinner, and every time we?re had a pleasant experience. Their food is fresh (crab cakes are sensational) and you can get an eclectic mix, anything from a rib-eye steak to linguini to an enchilada, plus the atmosphere is homey and quaint.

terrible service, blah food
the service was so bad it was absurd. the waiter brought out our wine half way through the meal - and after we asked for it several times! the food was just so...blah... my pear and watercress salad was a joke. regular lettuce with four small slices of pear on top. no watercress. the other food was just totally uninteresting - you could make it at home if you had five minutes. the waiter's cluelessness was the most insane though - one of our dining partners said "i'll have the tempe" to which he responded 'so you want the meat loaf?' like, how do you make that jump??? whatever. don't go there. go to Franny's a few blocks down MUCH BETTER.

What a Shame!
A formerly good to great restaurant is on the skids and may have already past the point of no return. Look at the date of my and the next review. Something has happened and I don't think there is any hope.

Wonderful Food, Good Service
I am somewhat of a regular. I really enjoy the food there. Favorites are the Linguini special with shrimp and scallops and the marinated skirt steak. Service is good on the weekends. Love the comfortable cozy atmosphere.

I've made it a tradition! Its an adorable spot.
I've made it a winter tradition to sit near the window, order the meatloaf, a glass of white wine, and read. Its an adorable spot.About this listing: Information on this page may be sourced from business owners, public records, and trusted data partners. 2findlocal provides these details to help users discover local businesses and services.
