The best at success!
I think that this is the best place to succeed at your fitness needs and desires. They offer everything you need to do this. It does take effort on your own part to make it a success and with lifetime you can do it. I did. I've lost ...

The best gym for my success!
I found lifetime fitness several years ago before moving to the east coast. I love this company! They have everything there you need to be successful with your fitness needs and desires. I lost 100 lbs when I was a member in 2004-2005. I moved away to a place that didn't have a lifetime. I gain weight. 150lbs. I had an opportunity to move back to the indy area. I did move back. i joined again. I think it is still the best gym in the area. Yes it can seem like alot to pay for a gym membership, but I believe it is worth it. The staff that was there before remembered me from before and the new staff warmed up to me once they started to get to know me. I have never had a problem with customer service there. A bad review in my opinion is just one experience that is not the norm for any business. There are thousands of members at Lifetime who love it there. Don't let a bad review steer you away from this place. See it for yourselves.

Poor Customer Service
Beware of Lifetime Fitness on the north side and any other Lifetime Fitness that is. I understand there name, Lifetime, because that is what they want. You as a member for Life and they will do whatever it takes to accomplish that. They will double charge your debit/credit card, treat you rudely and it will take months of calls, visits and e-mails to recoupe your money. As long as you expect to never stop paying the $100 a month that it costs, don't enter into there bogus contracts....read the fine print, because they will hold you to it, no matter what. My bank, Chase, down the street warned me about Lifetime and how many complaints they get from there customers about unauthorized charges and how much headache they cause there members. I should have listened and I am doing my part in warning any of you that are reading this! Again, Beware.

Poor Customer Service, No TVs on Cardio
I joined LifeTime for only a few months while stationed in Indy for work. When I joined, I was very clear with the member adviser that I would be moving in a few months and she said no problem, I just have to give a month's notice. On Dec 1st, I wanted to cancel and wanted Dec 31st to be my last day. I found out the hard way, that it wasn't a month's notice. It was the last day of the month before, the month you want to be done. So, I would have had to put in notice on the 30th of November. I found this to be COMPLETELY misleading and felt the adviser should have pointed this out to me when I signed up since it wasn't as easy as giving a "month's" notice. I asked to speak with the GM and he didn't even call me back and instead had someone call for him. They were completely unwilling to work with me and even though my December payment hadn't been withdrawn yet (so I felt I was still a FULL month away from the January payment being withdrawn), they held to "it was in the contract you signed." CUSTOMER SERVICE = FAIL.
Other things that are irritating about LifeTime...
No TVs on the Cardio Equipment. When I joined, the woman said this was the norm in Indy. (On the east coast, that is just standard for a good gym). I found out after joining LifeTime that the YMCA in Fishers has TVs on cardio equipment!
The TVs they do have are only in two locations and in one them, the cardio equipment extends really far back, so unless you can get one of the closer machines, you can't read the closed captioning. Why would you need to read the close captioning??
Because the sound is only available on an FM Tuner!!! What??? Who has FM Tuner's? How do they not have the sound devices that you can plug right into from the machine and just switch the stations??
Stretching area...LIMITED. It's either this weird carpeted area right when you come up the stairs or in another area where the trainers always are with their clients.
Rock Wall? Don't waste your time. Join a cheaper gym (which is pretty much all of them) and then pay to go to Climb Time. The hours are limited and thus, totally overrun with kids.
I have learned from others in Indy that gyms like LA Fitness and some of the smaller ones in Fishers have better equipment and are way cheaper.
I would not UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE ever recommend this gym.

Not what it's cracked up to be!
I would never join this gym again if were to ever move back to Indy.
My reasons:
-No TVs on cardio machines...I moved here from East Coast and this is standard in all good gyms. I was told when I came to this gym that gyms in Indy didn't have TVs. So, I (like an idiot) took their word for it and joined since their location was close to my job. After joining, I found out that the YMCA in Fishers (which is close to my home) has TVs on cardio equipment. Doh.
-They only have two areas where the TVs are and of the 8 TVs in each area, two are dedicated to LifeTimes music video station?
-You need an FM Tuner to listen to the TVs. This was shocking to me. If a gym doesn't have TVs on the equipment then they at least have the little device you can plug your headphones into and pick which channel you want to listen to!! Soooo...you have to read close captioning...good luck finding a machine close enough to the TVs to read the CC during peak hours.
-Easy cancellation polic

Clean, nice facility...HORRIBLE business.
Pros: Lots of nice equipment. 24 hours. Great Group Fitness classes.
Cons: OVERLY priced, bogus policies, unfriendly staff, unfriendly members (both tend to think they are better than you!), way busy at peak hours, staff is more focused on sales than service
