Don't judge a book by its name

La Canada Rustic Stone was in La Canada for decades. The value of an established name should be self evident. The person that commented on using a name of nearby area is WRONG and insulting to this material yard.

All the reviews are right on, this place sucked. I walked around and liked a few things, came inside this old run-down office. Tried to ask if I can buy a few things, these two red-necks with their rude and condescending attitude drove me...

Pick Your Patio!

We decided to do a flagstone patio around our home and were shocked that a place like this existed only 15 minutes from our front door. They have every kind of rock you could want for your garden, pool or patio. It amounts to a large 'yard' of stone. The friendly staff drive around with forklifts and haul small portions into your truck. For a fee, we had them deliver to our home. We bought a couple of tons of beautiful flagstone for a few hundred dollars.

Great Selection, Convenient Location

This stone dealer has the best selection on the east side. Open to the public, you can just walk around and pick your stone for any project: patios, walkways, walls. They'll also deliver.

NO SERVICE & RUDE & ARROGANT EMPLOYEES

I am a professional designer and heard this stone yard had decent material at affordable prices. The first time I went in, I walked out because the oakies behind the counter were both rude and arrogant. You know the type who have been in business so long and give you the impression that you're bothering them and they don't need your business. They were just not willing to take the time to give you any service. If you know what you want just place the order or get out of the way. Years later I forgot about that experience and had another expensive project to build and went in. What a mistake. This time was worse than the last. They could not identify a commonly known stone and took my information but never got back to me with a price. When I called to follow up a week later for my quote, they said they threw the paperwork away. Save your time and go to the a more professional business.

Similar experience

My experience was similar to Anonymous. I wandered around the yard for about a half hour and no one even came out of the little bungalow. I could have driven in a semi and filled it up before anyone would have noticed me.

I never did talk to a person--and decided I never will, there are too many other places I can go. Too bad, it is in a convenient location for me.

I have a personal prejudice that a business that calls itself by the name of an expensive nearby city instead of the city it actually is in ought to be avoided, and La Canada Rustic Stone bears this out.
