Best Store Around

I have been living in Shorewood my entire life and am very active within the community. Im in Neptunes atleast three times a week for all of my pet's needs. I have recently purchased a boxer puppy from them and she is the sweetest dog in the whole world, no health problems, and the price included the spaying and rabies vaccination for her on top of all the routine vet work that was already done when we bought her, and she was still with all of that a 1000 less than Petland or Furry Babbies in the Louie mall. I have in the past purchased two kittens from them and two other dogs, which are now 7 and 11. The staff is fantastic and always respectful and knowledgeable. These negative reviews on here are so strange to me, it's like they were written by people who have never been into King Neptunes. The store is always spottless, and all the animals cages are always clean and the pets are very well cared for. Folks take it from someone who has been going there for over ten years now, this pet store is the best in the area, hands down.

You people must have been catching it on a "good day" been going in there since Wednesday to check on the husky's they have there. Today it took a turn for the worst (which I didn't think could be after Friday's visit) On Wednesday, I went in there and the owner was as cocky as they come. The puppies in there are a mess. I am a very proud dog Mom to two huskies, I know the breed.. the way that they were acting is not how 12 week puppies act. Sleeping, lethargic.. etc. The discharge from their noses were enough to make me want to scream. We decided to look around the rest of the store and it wasn't suprising that the fish tanks were disgusting, the algae eaters were eating 5+ dead fish in a tank. The fact of the matter is this place has been shut down NUMEROUS of times but we were told by Animal Control that the state makes too much money off of them to keep them completely shut down because they can pay for the fines and reopen. Way to go, Illinois by keeping this place in business. I am taking my complaint to higher grounds as I WILL be contacting Illinois Department of Agriculture in the morning. This place NEEDS to be shut down. The owner is nothing but a money hungry, greedy, arrogant low life who walks around in a suit with his Corvette sitting outside, making money off of these puppies, kittens, birds, fish, etc. I don't know how he can sleep at night knowing those poor animals are sick. 28 years doesn't mean anything. Do yourselves a favor and find a REPUTABLE breeder who you can actually talk to, meet the parents, etc. He acts like you're getting a "deal" and the "best puppies" around... LIES!

King Neptune's a Pretty Good Store

First of all, and after much debate between other pet stores my wife and I decided to buy a silky terrier from King Neptune's. Even though the price was a bit higher than other (by at least $400) stores and breeders, they seemed very knowledgeable and offered included in the price the medical shots as well as other services such as spaying and neutering. Even though the majority of the workers there are kids they seem knowledgeable and seem to treat the animals especially dogs very good and the owner is usually always there if there are any problems or questions. Each time we visited they made continually efforts to make sure that we were comfortable and that we could play with the dog in a controlled environment away from the other dogs. We visited our dog at least 3 times before we purchased it and every time the staff made an effort to always play with the dogs as well as clean the poop up from their areas.

Great plave to visit

This is the best pet store my family have ever been in. There is never a dirty cage or any odor. All there pets are very happy and always playful. I check them out with the Il. dept of ag. and this store hasn't had a bad mark in 28 years. I recommend you see for yourself, and not trust what their competors write bad about them. Their fish all always great too, and they give a two week guarantee. check them out, you will like what you see !

PLease do not buy from here

I bought a Yorkshire Terrier from King Neptunes. I asked before buying what problems this breed has, and he answered "none, their only problem is that they are too cute". I payed $1300 for my "perfect puppy". The dog had kennel cough, giardia (an intestinal parasite), and Leg Perthes Disease, a congenital disorder, (which required a $1500 surgery to correct along with rehab of the leg). You would be much better off adopting a dog, they are healthier than the dogs offered by this pet store.
