Kampai Sushi & Grill is outstanding
Great sushi - took a friend from Indianapolis telling us about a great sushi place right in our own back yard. A real treat in Addison Circle - the atmosphere of the place just makes for a perfect evening - with awesome authentic sushi.

Kampai Sushi & Grill
Great little sushi place located right in Addison Circle behind the big blue structure. Great price and very friendly service. They also have a patio if you want to sit outside.

Best Sushi this side of the San Francisco!
Small, quiet, and wonderful! We've tried sushi all over DFW and this one, right here in our own back yard, is the BEST! When you're talking sushi, you need fresh - and it is here. We have never been disappointed. Our friends from Indiana make this a must do every time they are in town!

Fresh sushi, good prices
Every time we go to this sushi place, it is almost empty. This is surprising because their sushi is fresh, the menu is extensive and the service is great. There is a large outdoor patio right across from the Addison Circle. Great for people watching. They also have teriyaki and tempura selections for those folks who don't like raw fish. I especially like the open kitchen with bar seating so you can sit and talk to the sushi chefs as they prepare it for you.

empty on friday nights
I've had sushi here a few times, and it was just ok for the price. This is not the finest sushi you'll have in Dallas, but nothing to complain about for the decent price. The non-sushi entrees and appetizers on the menu, however? Horrible. Deep fried crab rangoon was fishy and greasy. Chicken Yakitori was almost inedible. The chicken was dry and flavorless, and the dipping sauce it came with tasted like it came out of a can. I was hoping the entree I ordered would erase the awful taste the appetizers left in my mouth, but it did not. Chicken katsu roll sounded delicious on the menu, with asparagus and carrots wrapped in chicken that was breaded and fried. The chicken once again resembled rubber, and it was utterly flavorless, even with the accompanying sauce and the vegatables. On the side was decent japanese cole slaw, but at this point, nothing could save this dinner. The non-sushi entrees were chinese buffet-quality, but the prices were four times what you'd pay at a buffet. I would skip this restaurant, and opt for something like Cafe Miso, which is just a few blocks away.
