Restarurant

House on the Hill is small but has great service. The menu has lots of tasty choices including salads, soups, chicken, steak, and seafood and they are all wonderful!

Disappointing

On a recent visit to House on the Hill, my wife and I were disappointed in our dinners. Although the restaurant retains its charm and the service was attentive, the food left a great deal to be desired.

My wife ordered the prime rib medium rare, and it was brought to the table cooked medium. Drawing our server's attention, she returned it to the kitchen and came back with what looked like a plate of fat with a few bits of meat. Was the chef insulted? Was this substandard offering his retribution?

I ordered the salmon with a pesto sauce. The dinner was served lukewarm, and the pesto topping was tasteless. My vegetables were undercooked as well.

We have enjoyed good meals there in the past, but our latest experience was very disappointing.

Not Horrible Prices for REALLY good Food!

Beautiful set up with a wine list from here to Timbuktu! The service is pleasant and well informed about their food! Nice atmosphere with maybe a little to dim of lighting, but all in all amazing food for reasonable prices. In support of local restaurant run my mom and pops I highly recommend House on The Hill

This restaurant is actually a little house and it is really up on a hill with spectacular views of Poway at night. On our first visit we were seated right next to the fireplace and it was so romantic. Our server was very entertaining and recommended various items on the menu, including a nice wine that went well with our dinner choice. They re-corked the bottle of wine so that we could take it with us when we left. I highly recommend their version of stuffed mushrooms. They were so delicious that I spent three days trying to duplicate them.

What a House.

This restaurant was introduced to us by close friends who have become regulars. We loved it the first time and we love it every time we have been after. This has become the place we go on special occasions. They have an excellent staff and an intriguing menu to choose from. This is a defintiely MUST.
