SAD CHILDREN AT GLEN HOLLOW IN CARROLLTON TEXAS
This program promotes anti-creative learning. If you are considering this program please read up on the abundance of research on how creativity plays an important role in learning. The owner (which was very condescending) sold the program by making a group of children recite previously memorized, yes memorized, continents and U.S. states. This was supposed to impress my family! When asked about free-time the owner/director/teacher re-emphasized the academic curriculum which he could not expand on. Parents keep in mind that children (especially pre-K aged) need to explore their own behaviors and learning strategies. Both structure and creative learning are important, however these need to be facilitated in moderation. My 7 year old summarized this place in her words that place is scary and those kids look sad.

Glen Hollow was a wonderful experience for my son!!!
My son started attending Glen Hollow at 2 years old, after leaving an in-home childcare. The previous review refers to the owner. This man is Dr. Hogan, and he is extremely bright. The children in that school do not rehearse for visits from parents. I was invited anytime to visit, before enrolling my son. When I walked in, the 5 year olds were learning the gases in the air we breathe. By the time the children leave there and begin Kindergarten, they have been given the skills to be able to read and write. We moved to McKinney, and I stayed home with my son. Now, we have a 2 year old, and we are considering driving him there one day per week. The education is phenomenal. I don't think the first review is adequate. This is not a grandma's house, an art school, or any pigeon-holed type place. Glen Hollow is a day school where children receive wonderful teaching, play, rest, discipline, meals, and guidance.K.W. TERRIBLE DAYCARE
an 8 year old said that they were having lunch, and someone accidentally screamed out I have a dog! And then the teacher came bursting out of the office, asking in a mean tone who said that? and the child raised his hand and the teacher grabbed the kid by his shirt and dragged him to time out, then saying BYE BYE. And yes they do recite the United States and read out sentences to visiting parents, I myself have seen it. The 2-2nd Grade have different learning precedures. 3rd on is completely different, which is why I wrote this review

This is a Terrific Day School!!
I love this school! My son has been going there for a year and a half. He loves his teachers, he learns so much from them and has a great time with his friends there. Next summer he'll 'graduate' to the four-year-old side where he'll learn reading and math concepts, learn his states, basic US history, the states, the planets, etc. If you want a play environment for your preschooler, this is not your place. The two and three-year-olds do play with coloring, singing songs, crafts, etc., but the older kids begin preparing for school and sponging in knowledge. This school even offers piano lessons in the PM. They are reasonably priced, provide snacks & lunch and run longer than MDOs. Simply put: this school rocks!

Wonderful Day School Experience
After trying a small in-home daycare and a large chain my wife and I moved our daughter to Glen Hollow. She started one year ago and is now just over 3 yrs old. We continue to be amazed by how much she is learning. She loves going to school. We recently took her out for a 2 week summer vacation and toward the end she was so excited to go back to that I had to drive her to school on Sunday just to show her that it was closed. The structure has been great for her and there is still a reasonable amount of play time for the kids. Dr. Hogan has been great to my wife and I and our daughter always greets him with a big smile and Good morning Dr. Hogan. I highly recommend this school and do not see any reason my daughter will not continue here until she is in kindergarten.

It's all about memorization...with reading and arithmatic...DUH??? But how many three year olds do you know that can do the same? Not many!!! Second, the dvd My baby can read is all about memorization. There was another comment about kids looking sad....????? Every single child looked sad...did you visit right after nap time? Third...children need structure and sometimes this personal creativity allows room for kids to disrespectful. Dr. Hogan is running a tight ship and there's no room for nonsense. I have other references and I'm going to enroll my child. If he doesn't like it or seems sad I will yank him from the school. But after the kids were done reading they wanted to continue reading more and more. That was exciting for me. Kids should be excited to learn and these kids were excited to sh

Best Place Ever!!!
Dr.Hogan is the best teacher! I went there a couple years ago, and I went into school knowing things that other kids had to learn from scratch. In fact, the things I learned there 3 years ago, my class is only starting to learn... and I'm in 7th grade now! All parents that are willing to listen to me,Glen Hollow will help your child in the long run. :) (p.s. Dr. Hogan, I love you!
