Inept Electrolygist Gave Me Scars

I was going for electrolysis for almost a year. After a while I got discouraged because it seemed like I was getting *more hairy* and it seemed I was getting scarred. I asked the electrolygist about the scarring and she said it was just red from the procedure and would fade once I stopped coming (I was going once a week). I kept going for a few more months after that but then became too upset about the "not scarring" and stopped. I used scar creams and sunblock and stayed out of the sun - it's been about 4 months since I stopped going and the "not scars" are still there and only slightly faded. And none of the hair had been permanently destroyed. I went to another hair professional and asked about it and was told that if I'd kept going for just a few more months I'd have ended up with noticeable pitting instead of just pink dots (upper lip, chin, stomach, chest - great places for scars - thanks!). Plus she could tell me *exactly* which areas the electrologist had recently starting treating - because she could tell where the hairs had been recently activated (pulling them out without properly zapping them first - making them grow back thicker and darker, just as I had suspected). Don't wast your time or money and don't trade in your hair mustache for a scar mustache - it looks even worse.

I HAVE TO DISAGREE !!! MY ELECTROLYSIS EXPERIENCE WAS WONDERFUL I SAW A HUGE IMPROVEMENT AND THE ESTHETICIAN THAT WORKED WITH ME WAS EXCELLENT SHE WAS VERY INFORMATIVE AND EXTREMELY SWEET. I HAVE BEEN GOING TO PLACES IN THE CITY AND NONE COMPARE

Permanent makeup

I went and had my permanent eyeliner done and it looked great, I was really nervouse but the girls at the spa were so nice I soon relaxed they also suggested I have semi permanent eyelashes so I have made my appointment for a few weeks time, my eyes are going to look better than ever! I thought these kind of treatments were only available in the city so it's great to have it available right on my door step in Astoria.

Noisy day spa

I thought spas were supposed to be relaxing! Not this one. Much too noisy. Unless you don't mind all the talking going on, (not in english) then you may find this spa to be the one for you. I found it much too noisy.

I have to disagree with the last review about noisy ...I have been a loyal client to this spa for about 2 months now and I must say it is very relaxing!! I wonder if maybe there was just an obnoxious client talking loud you really caint help bumping into one of those anywhere! The reception may be a bit noisy but thats the reception you caint hear anything when you are in the private rooms! I must say I have had many excellent experiences! Also, they just added a hair salon which was perfect for me cause I love getting everything done at once! Very convenient!! I also want to say I have been getting electrolysis there and I have no scaring and I am already noticing a difference. I have been to many high-end spas and this has to be one of the best ... Great service! Clean! Relaxing!

SOOOOO Relaxing, but affordable!

I have been coming to the shop for a while and I am really happy will all the services I have recieved. I have had a facial, my eyebrows waxed and tinted, manicures and gotten my hair done here. Everytime the staff has been extremely pleasant and they all do a great job. I also love how inexpensive it is. It's so reasonible that I can get the treatment I love on a regular basis. And I love the eyebrow tinting 15 dollars and I don't have to pencil them in for a month.

Amazing Results !!!

I have had several facials before and viewed them as a luxury, without any real benefits. For the first time, I can honestly say, that I have seen the actual benefit and value in a facial. I had a clean as a whistle facial at Face & Body Shop a few weeks ago. The esthetician ,Cleo really took the time to analyze my skin and then customized a facial to help resolve them. I have always had trouble with my skin, suffering from adult acne, scarring, and poor texture. Cleo was able to help me balance my skin out and then plan a skin care routine for me to treat my issues at home. I didn't expect any actual results since I have never experienced any before, but within days, my skin had a whole new texture and it just keeps getting better. I am impressed but more importantly, grateful. I will be recommending Face & body shop to everyone I know. Not only can they make a facial luxurious and relaxing, but they have given me the tools to really take care of my skin.

During our date night, my partner and I treated each other to massages at The Face and Body Shop. We were extremely impressed with how professional, attentive, and well trained the staff were. We both walked out of our separate sessions feeling relaxed and well taken care of. We've been to several different spas before, and we both agreed that this was (by far) the best massage we have both ever had.



You would be a fool not to check this place out. I can't wait to go again!

great escape!

I run in to The Face and Body shop for some last minute xmas shopping, it looked so inviting I decided to try it out for myself. They had some new facial stuff "Klapp" with needling and micro current, well my skin has never loked so good. Had a blow out and make-up and was ready for my xmas party, all refreshed and happy. loved it thanks.
