Pizza Classics

What can I say? Being the dd on our Friday evening venture...I can say that Larry and Chewy NAILED IT with their reviews of this place. Nothing else that I can say would hit it more spot on than their reviews. I will say, though, that...

A VERY DISAPPOINTED LOYAL CUSTOMER

I work the 11pm-7am shift at a local hotel in North Austin and I was elated to find out that there was a delivery place that stayed open so late. I must admit despite the amount of bad reviews that they had gotten from google up until this point I had not had a bad experience with them. But on 4/01/2009 at about 1:30am I called and placed an order for a large BEEF pizza, it got there swiftly and I did not even look at it b/c i had so many good experiences with them before. Well, when i opened the box it was a pepperoni pizza w/ little burnt pepperonis on top. Before i started to eat i called to let the manager know, and he told me that i order a pepperoni pizza b/c he was the one that took my order, even though i know i did not order that b/c i do not eat pork but he informed me that they use beef pepperoni so i did not argue. but once i started to eat the whole experience got much worse. It was like eating card board. it was cold and it was the worst pizza i ever had to pay for. on top of that we paid 32.00 for it.

btw- the manger was not willing to compensate not even with a measily discount for next time. i would not recommend them to a starving dog....i take that back, thats probably the only way I would ever give another recommendation to anyone for this place.

Good food, Latest hours, Largest delivery area, Only option in town during the night/morning

**First a confession. I work here, currently. People are more likely to leave bad reviews after a bad experience than good reviews after a good experience. Now that's out of the way.**

**Pizza Classics is basically on the drag, well within walking distance from UT campus. If you want a pizza after 1am during the week and after 2am on the weekend, Pizza Classics is your only option. If you live far away from the downtown or UT area it's your only option even earlier. And it's a good option. The food is good. The secret is in the sauce and the dough. The manager is usually very generous with the toppings. He constantly tells the assistant cooks to "Put more on, they paid for it." And they did. The pizza is pricier than cheaper restaurants which are pricing pizza restaurants including themselves out of business. Large volume, lots of work, low sales. It's a losing game. When they start raising the prices back up to become profitable they anger their customers.**

**Pizza Classics has recently started using new toppings and now offers its own take on a Chicago-style stuffed pizza. Specialty toppings include Chicken, Artichoke, Kalamata Olives, Sun-dried Tomatoes, Pesto Sauce, Feta Cheese, Spinach, and Fresh Tomatoes. Their pepperoni rolls are one of the best items on the menu.**

**As for delivery Pizza Classics can take an hour or more to deliver a pizza. It depends on how far you are and how busy the night is. They do give reasonable estimates on time of delivery and the customer always has the right to cancel when they hear it might be an hour. At the same time I have personally gotten many comments from customers about how fast delivery was. Usually we're there in about half an hour, sometimes 45 minutes. Sometimes 20 minutes, even downtown or as far as Ben White.**

**Honestly, I would give Pizza Classics 5 stars but would legitimately be accused of being biased. It definitely doesn't deserve 2.5 stars.**

Unfit for Human Consumption

Austin has a lot of pizza places, and plenty of lousy ones, but Pizza Classics manages to combine spectacularly bad food with the worst service I've ever encountered. Though I was quoted a price of $28 for two large one-topping pizzas, the delivery driver demanded $42 (!!) for the same order. When I spoke to the manager on the phone, he was rude and personally insulting. The food was nearly inedible and the service appalling. Avoid Pizza Classics at all costs.

bad, expensive pizza. go somewhere else to latenight binge.

Save yourself the $18 for a pizza. Sure it delivers later than any other pizza place, but it will take an hour and a half to arrive, and will be cold and disgusting. We should organize to put this place out of business.

Best Late-night Pizza Hours

The pizza is decent. But when its late at night and nobody else is delivering. Its the best tasting pizza when you're starving for food. They have the latest hour of operation than any other pizza delivery that I have seen.

Plus if you know how to get to them and don't mind picking up your own pizza. You can get a second pizza of equal or lesser value for FREE!

Sure the pizza can be a bit doughy or salty, but its a descent price for descent/ok pizza and you can't beat the 2-4-1 deal if you pick up the pizza yourself. Also they have other options that good.

You can get a calzone, or large serving of lasagna, plus other choices. The times on this page are outdated. Call them or check-out a menu if you find one, for their latest hours of operation.

Unbelievably Terrible!

The whole time I was forcing this pizza down I kept wondering how it was possible to make such a disgusting pizza. Tasted doughy, extremely salty, very little sauce, and the meat was inedible. In general, do not order this pizza, it is unfit for eating.
