Don't Go With Meyers Van Lines!

I would highly recommend you NOT use Meyers Moving. I did a lot of research before choosing a moving company for my NY to LA move, and in the end went with Meyers because they gave us the cheapest quote, and since they are an affiliate of Mayflower, I figured they must be reputable. I was unable to locate any reviews online, but I just went with it anyway. My first experience with the guy over the phone was great - he was knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. But after I signed the contract, it all went downhill. To sum it up:

They continuously don't return your phone calls. On the day of the move, the foreman was incredibly rude, sarcastic, and told us how much we should tip them within 5 minutes of arriving. He rushed us through the move, and did not make us feel like our stuff was safe. They packed and labeled things carelessly, yet assured us their system was mistake proof. They were wrong. When our stuff was delivered, boxes and entire pieces of furniture were missing. They even delivered boxes to us that belonged to someone else. No wonder- all they do to distinguish your boxes from someone else's is put these tiny one inch stickers on them. You can barely see them, and they fall off.

When we were scheduling the delivery, they told us it was underway but then forgot about us and ended up scrambling to find a driver at the last minute. Good thing we followed up, or we would have been waiting a very long time! Throughout the whole process, no one ever called to check in and give us our total, see how things went with the pickup or delivery, etc. Our stuff arrived on the very last day of the delivery window, and it almost didn't even make that. A couple days before it was supposed to be delivered, they asked if they could have more time, but I threw a fit so we got it on the very last day. On the day of the delivery, they were supposed to reassemble certain pieces of furniture, but the foreman basically refused.
