Bad gyro; worse attitude

I got my gyro to go and the maitre'd was rude and had an attitude. I've eaten many a gyro in my life and this was the greasiest, blandest one I've ever eaten (the white sauce was tasteless). I can get a better gyro from a street meat cart!

I go there all the all the time- they have the best meat dishes in Midtown. Service it prompt and professional, food is amazing

My sister and I totally enjoyed this meal! Somebody handed us a flyer on the street one day and we made a point of getting there the next day. The wait staff were very nice and friendly. The food was delicious! My greatest regret is that I don't live in NYC - we were just visiting. So I brought home the menu to see if I can try to create some of these Mediterranean dishes! If you haven't tried this place, ya gotta. If you have tried it, you know what I'm talking about!

Wow

The food here is excellent. From our experience sitting near the door, they do quite the evening take out business. I am used to the traditional pita bread, but they use a thicker, almost french tasting bread that was fine and different.

The mezza dishes were excellent and the salmon and traditional turkish dishes were wonderful. We had grape leaf wrapped salmon grilled and lamb gyro meat over bread with a yogurt and tomato sauce that was really amazing...quite heavy and oily, so I took it home for another meal. The rice pudding and turkish puddings were really good and they were willing to serve the traditional turkish coffee with dessert rather than the American. The prefix dinner price was $21 per person with plenty to take home for another meal.

It did take awhile to get the food, but we weren't in a hurry and the atmosphere was ok.

I want to give this place more than 5 stars - it was absolutely off the charts!

We took a chance ordering delivery to our room and boy, were our socks blown clean off! We started with the Greek Salad (grape leaves, olives, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, feta cheese, olive oil and lemon juice)and Lebni (thick home made yogurt with walnuts garlic and dill). Both were great but the Lebni tasted better than crack - I couldn't get enough. I had serious thoughts of hoarding it as soon as I tasted it, but alas in a hotel room there's nowhere to hide.

On to the main course, Grilled Salmon (grilled fillet of wild king salmon served with arugula and shredded carrots). So simply prepared and yet it tasted amazing.

For dessert, Rice Pudding (home made baked creamy casserole rice pudding with cinnamon). Since it was baked and thus had a texture similar to flan, the beau wouldn't touch it. Hmmmm, more for me! It made for a great breakfast the next day as well.

Can't recommend this place enough, GO! GO! GO!

Used to be great, went WAY down hill

It is even more painful when a place you used to love, turning into garbage. I am disappointed enough to write a review to tell people not to make the same mistake. When there are hundreds of great restaurants in the city, there is absolutely no excuses.

Go/order from somewhere else.

Great (and unexpesive) Turkish food

This place is great and, what is even better, they have very reasonable prices, actually even on the low side. And this is not one of those places where you get what you paid for, you actually get a lot more than what you expect for the price.
Great selection for appetizers, and the fish dishes are amazing!
Highly recommended!
